Welcome to the SURP (Steven Universe Roleplay)!

    Welcome to the SURP! This is not the only and is not the first Steven Universe RP forum. In fact, we branched off from another Steven Universe RP, the original SURP, not so long ago. While we may not be the first we'd like to think this is the most free-form SURP out there at this point in time. We are very lenient with our members in order to try give them as much freedom as possible. However, there are rules that must be followed. At first glance, the rules may seem somewhat restricting, but after you read over them you'll realize that they're primarily general RP rules and an explanation of the site RP rules.

Basic rules: 

These rules are your common everyday RP rules.

• Don't be a jerk. Insulting other members is looked down upon and repeat offenders will be banned.
  
  
• No NSFW roleplay allowed on this site. This is out of respect for fellow members who would like to see this site stay appropriate for the type of RP it is. I mean, c'mon guys it's Steven Universe. Expect some minors.
  
  
• No metagaming allowed. This means you can't use out of character information with your character. For example, if you know out of character (OOC) that someone plans to kill your character but in character (IC) you have no idea, don't suddenly make your character know all about it. Suspicions at best.
  
  
• No godmodding. I can't stress this enough. This means that you can't fully control a fellow member's actions or thoughts continuously. At best you can stun them for 1 post. You can also never kill a rper without express permission. Cracking gems are allowed but the other gem must be aware before doing so so they have a chance to react. In fights you can't decide if a hit lands but this also means you can't never get hit. Your character is not perfect.
  
  
• You cannot kill another member's character without their expressed permission during normal RP. Gems are durable, it will take alot to crack their gems so at the same time don't be afraid to get hit in a fight.
  
  
• Pick a writing style and stick with it. This means that if you want to write in third, first, or second, stick with it so we understand your writing style and can follow. It would be nice if it was all third person, but we don't want to infringe on your uniqueness.

    Now that we've gone through all the boring stuff, let's get into what you really came here for, Character Creation.  Character creation takes place in the Rose Quartz Dimension, which at this time is always active and open for anyone. There is no limit to how much you write on your application but we heavily encourage and recommend character applications with a lot of detail. This is mainly to help others who read your profile get a better grasp of who you role play as. You can also request for minute changes to be made to your character anytime. For example, in a role play your character lost their best friend. Now he/she has gone from being happy go lucky to a vengeful bastard. In this case you'd request and give details pertaining your personality change.

• Number of Characters Each member is granted the ability to make 6 characters. At first you may only create 3 but after 100 posts you can create four then at 500 posts you may create 5 and at 2000 posts you may finally create your 6th character. The posts are counted by adding the total number of posts on each character * 30%. On your 6th character you may start scooping which is further explained here. Each character must be registered under a different account so the post count may restart for the new character. Each account must also share the same email and list in the signature that it is an alternate of another account. If you wish to leave a character you must request it first so a moderator may move it to the appropriate thread.
  
  
• Starting Points All characters start with 0P (Points)Points are earned by: Completing a SL, fighting, events, and reaching a new rank in post counts. If you "scoop" a character you may pay points in order to start out in a different location.. Otherwise you start in beach city. Points are the life of this RP. They help determine your traits, powers, stats, etc..
  
  These are the costs to start out in the cities.
  
  50 P to start in the kindergarten
  100 P to start in Charm City
  150 P to start in Empire City
  300 P to start in either Kansas or Delmarve
  500 P to start in Mask Island
  800 P to start in Homeworld
  
  This does not mean you can't state in your history that you came from somewhere else. This is simply the starting point for your character meaning that the first RP must be in these places as a safety since stronger characters tend to linger around the other places.
  
  
  
• History For now, Cannon characters are not allowed and at the same rate you cant be outstandingly associated with Cannon characters either. You can look up to a character from the show and such but stating that you are Steven's son or something of the likes is not allowed.

With that information you can go ahead and fill out the majority of your character application but it would be good to stick around and finish the rest of the rules so you can get the most out of your SURP experience.

• Groups This is not a requirement but is something you might want to consider as each group comes with benefits. The site contains 5 primary groups and an unlimited number of secondary groups which are created by you. If you wish to create a new group let a moderator know so that he/she may approve the group for site use.
  
  
• Professions This helps us know what type of character your character is. Are they Combat experts? Mercenaries? Bandits? Cooks? Business oriented? etc. This is further explained here.
  
  
• Stats This helps us see what your combat abilities are and how well you'd do in certain situations.
• Artifacts Each character is allowed to have a max of 2 artifacts at a time. You can read more about them here
  
  
• Techniques The core of your character. Note that this is different from abilities. Techniques help define what special moves your character has that helps in combat. You can learn more about them here

Now that all of this is out of the way, you can now fully complete your character application without any regrets. Sorry If it seemed a bit overwhelming but freedom is restriction. You can find the application in the Character Maker forum and may build your character in the WIP subforum. When you complete your character application simply copy the BB Code of the WIP application, make a new application in the Character Maker forum, and paste the BB Code and submit the application. Application acceptance can be from a few hours to a few days. If an application newer than yours is accepted that doesn't mean yours wasn't seen. If you haven't been accepted in a two weeks then you may PM a moderator about it but PMing prior to two weeks is only good if you want to piss the moderator off.

When you become approved make sure to put a link to your application in your signature. No rewards are handed out to those who do not comply. YOU MUST COMPLY.

You may start RPing once you are accepted. You do not need a group or other members to create an rp but solo threading is looked down upon and the rewards for a solo thread is very minute. If you need a narrator for your thread just request one here.

When a SL (Storyline) is complete you should say so here so a moderator may review the SL and hand out the deserved rewards. Rewards are usually SD (Steven Dollars), P (Points), higher bounties, threat levels, promotions, commendations, and if the story revolved around an Artifact they will also be included in the reward. At this point you can edit your application regarding the rewards and put the updates into the edit logs so they can be noted.


After reaping your rewards you now repeat the process again by making a new SL thread and so on, before eventually heading off the Charm city and more once you reach 50P. However, storylines aren’t your only option. More battle-inclined players might want to pit their characters against someone else in the Arena's located in various places in the RP. You can even just chill and do business transactions anywhere that's available to such as the black market or lounge areas. These are still canon but are not rewarded as they are purely for fun.


As you start to collect wealth, you might want to spend some of that hard-earned cash on new weapons, upgrades for current weapons/ artifacts, or a multitude of other things. That can all be done here.
